May Kindred-Boothby is a 2D hand-drawn animation director. She worked as a freelance animator for 8 years before completing her Masters in Animation at the RCA. While there she completed her first directorial short The Eating of an Orange, which won the Special Jury award for Animation Direction at Sundance Film Festival 2025. Her new work is bold an colourful. It uses unsettling surrealism to talk about subjects she finds important in a painterly hand-drawn style.
