Emily Ketteringham

Emily Ketteringham is a screenprinter, maker, and Public Artist.

After leaving a career in teaching, Emily graduated with an MA in Multidisciplinary Print Making from the University of the West of England, Bristol. She enjoyed being back on the other side of education so much that she went on to study for a second MA in Design, also at UWE.

Emily’s screenprints are informed by her exploration of layering, landscape and, geology – she has an endlessly growing pebble collection that often finds its way into her work. The overarching theme that unites all of Emily’s work is her love of colour. Her abstract circular prints are about the importance of colour within memory. They are about being in the moment, drinking in the colour of a landscape, letting the colour be all there is.

Emily’s largest Public Art project, ‘An Audience With The Past’ can be seen at The Bristol Old Vic. When you visit the theatre, you will find this 15 metre long piece, on 3 levels, featuring characters from posters and playbills from the theatres past, waiting to greet as you enter the auditorium.
